Starrcast confirmed to return to WWE SummerSlam Weekend

The coronavirus pandemic has seen WWE, AEW, and many other wrestling events make some big changes in the face of lockdowns, restrictions and social distancing requirements, but as those terms are now in place around the world, one of the biggest deals is set to return as Starrcast Conrad confirmed Thompson that he will be back this summer. Thompson spoke during “SummerSlam Weekend” detailing why it’s the perfect time to bring back Starrcast and started hinting at some of the big and amazing names that might be in the pro wrestling event.

In a chat with Outlet Sports Illustrated, Starrcast founder and coordinator detailed why the time is right for a reconference as well as hinting at what’s coming this year for the fifth event.

“Before the epidemic, we hoped to do another starcast In Chicago in 2020, but the stars didn’t align. So it makes sense to bring it back, especially with a stadium offering nearby – but this time, with some twists that I think everyone will enjoy.”

Conrad also took the opportunity to drop the news fans should expect to hear about the wrestlers present at this year’s Starrcast starting next week:

“You’ll hear from some of the names we haven’t heard from in a long time and there will be others we might hear from for the last time. We’ll be starting all of these announcements next week.”

During the pandemic, World Wrestling Entertainment has made some smart moves to come to terms with the fact that live audiences haven’t been able to attend weekly events and pay-per-view events, while creating ThunderDome as a way to combat that fact. Lined with countless screens that showed wrestling fans watching from their homes, Dome was taken out when fans could return but it was a creative way to create an audience when there couldn’t be one live.

Starrcast will take place in Nashville, Tennessee from July 29-July 31 at the Nashville Fairgrounds, with SummerSlam arriving for WWE on July 30.
